For This Area Of Claims, It Is Essential That The Precautionary Steps As Highlighted Below Are Taken At The Onset Of The Discovery Of A Potential Loss.
- To put the carriers, Port of Authorities and/or other Bailees on notice, holding them liable for the loss of or damage as sustained by the cargo
- To call for a survey immediately by notifying the survey agents as listed in the policy (this applies to overseas ports) and requesting the carrier or other Bailees to attend a joint survey. For inbound cargo to Singapore, please contact your intermediary or our Claims Department immediately
- It is essential to clause the relevant loss/damage remarks on the delivery note/receipt/order for proper notice if the container delivered was damaged or with tampered seals other than the one explicitly stated in the shipping documents
- If the loss was not apparent at the point of taking delivery of the goods, written notice must be given to the carriers or other Bailees within 3 days of delivery
The Insured Must Take Reasonable Measures To Avert Or Mitigate A Loss And Act As A Prudent Self-Insured Party

- Correspondence exchanged between the Carriers or other Bailees
- Cargo Irregularity Report or Cargo Clearance Permit
- Survey Report (Loading & Discharge, if applicable)
- Landing Weight Certificate or Weight Note
- Repair/Replacement Invoice
- Any other relevant document evidencing the Loss or Damage
